Vice President(s): Charles Fairbanks
Political Party: Republican

Thesis:
After being thrust into the position of President after his predecessor was killed Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt handle the presidency well. He became one of the only men to assume presidency without being elected. Also, he handled it better than other’s in his situation such as Andrew Johnson whom was known as a dictator and a “drunken tailor” and by him being able elude most criticism as Presidents such as him did it only further makes me feel that Roosevelt deserves an “A”.
Goals as President:
Roosevelt had many goals while he was in office among them were things such as his “Speak softly and carry a big stick and you will go far” philosophy and to mimic his office after this policy which he did effectively especially when he brought about the creation of the Great White Fleet. Although through some shady tactics his results still shined true when Roosevelt help lead to the creation of the Panama Canal, with its creation Roosevelt’s goal to increase trade and travel through South America. As well as a quicker route to certain places if military power is required to hold back invading countries attempting to seize American or Latin American territory. Also he used his big stick policy in the form of his creation the Great White Fleet to defend Latin America if they ever run into any sort of trouble. One of his last goals and one of his most significant is the preservation and protection of American Land so that it can be saved for future generations.
Relationship with Congress:
Roosevelt was favored by all; he was accepted by Republicans and Democrats alike regardless of his party. Roosevelt was a war hero which also gave him a much more substantial pull in Congress and the Senate; Roosevelt was thus able to pass a multitude of various laws ranging from domestic all the way to foreign affairs. He was so favored by each party that even his most controversial laws were passed such as the law known as the Corollary which allowed the U.S. to intervene if any other country tried to intervene.
Positive Outcomes:
Some of his more positive outcomes dealt mainly with him and his work with the labor division in which he created the “square deal” which gave more money to the workers and caused the businesses to treat their employee’s better in threat of the Federal Government taking over the business to make sure that the workers were treated fairly and received fair wages for the work that they did. One of the key initiators of Welfare legislation, Theodore Roosevelt did many various things abroad as well, such as the creation of the Panama Canal. Roosevelt did other things especially with Wildlife preserves and National Parks which have helped preserve nature’s beauty for over 100 years.
Negative Outcomes:
Some of Roosevelt’s more negative outcomes were not more from his presidency as much as his attitude. Roosevelt was known in his early years before he became president as a glory hound within the ranks of the Rough Riders Roosevelt led successful attacks against the Philippines in the war. The only problem was that some of his attempts were unauthorized and were Roosevelt’s schemes of acquire fame for himself and partially for his unit. Although it was not truly his fault some of Roosevelt’s more negeative actions during his Presidency was the incident known as the Roosevelt Panic of 1907 in which Roosevelt was blamed for messing with industry and in reply he blamed people of high wealth for they pressured all of it into being but and even with the Panic of 1907 he was able to make a “fiscal reform” which the U.S. greatly needed.
Presidents after Effects:
Some of Roosevelt’s major after effects can be seen all across the U.S. whenever one sights a National Park or Wildlife Preserve or anything that was initially designed to preserve nature’s beauty was done by Roosevelt whom strongly believed that the preservation of nature was in America’s best intrest whether they liked it or not. He saved America from destroying some of nature’s last beautiful creations just for the sake of the future and progress in the America.
Conclusion:
To sum it all up, Roosevelt was an “A” grade President for his vast works at home and as well as abroad he put America on the world stage as a power for all to see. He fixed America’s labor problems to the best of his abilities he made his problems into solutions and basically was an all around excellent president but because of his attitude and the Panic of 1907 that ensued withing his Presidency, for these reason only do I say that Roosevelt deserves an “A” instead of an “A+”.
